The only implant available to first time augmentation patients in the United States is the
saline implant. Dr. Jacobsen uses Mentor Implants either round or high profile. The shell
of the implant is a strong silicone elastomer shell. The implant is filled with sterile
saline at the time of surgery. Mentor's new high profile implant gives an excellent result
with less roundness and more subtle projection. High profile implants have been very
effective in lessening the change of lateral rippling.
