The most common incisions are the transaxillary (armpit crease), inframammary fold (under
the breast). Dr. Jacobsen prefers the transaxillary or the inframammary incisions,
depending on patient preference. Sometimes the inframammary incision is required for the
patient as more "correction" and "adjustments" can be made through this incision
particularly for the ladies that have had children and have developed some droop or
ptosis. Dr. Jacobsen does not perform the TUBA operation which is through the belly
button which he feels significantly reduces the control and refinement of the breast
implant positioning. Dr. Jacobsen uses the areolar incision only in specialty situations.
