It is our office policy to give you your prescriptions or call them into your pharmacy
before your surgery. We prescribe a pain medication and also a muscle relaxant, Valium, to
take for muscle spasms which reduce the need for pain medication. A great deal of your
pain after the procedure is due to the stretching of the muscle as it adapts to a foreign
object.
