Will the breast implant surgery cause changes in the feeling

Occasionally there is a temporary loss of sensation in the nipple or in the breast itself usually on the lateral or side of the breast. This occurs as the nerve is stretched and bruised just like your muscle and skin are after surgery. The nerve tends to shut down temporarily when it is swollen or bruised. This may take from a few days to several weeks or months to subside. It is very rare to entirely lose the sensation in the nipple. The risk of sensory loss goes up slightly if there is a dramatic increase in the breast size with augmentation. There is also a risk that the breasts or nipple are over sensitive for a period of time as well.
