It is imperative that you have help at home after surgery. If you have no help at all you
should either stay overnight at the SurgiCenter for one or two nights, though generally
everybody can get some sort help either from their family or from their friends. The first
day after your surgery you will need somebody to bring you plenty of fluids to drink and
to care for you and to help you with your medications and help you in and out of bed and
to get dressed. By the second or third day you'll need less and less help at home. But it
is very important that you get your home arranged in your life or arranged prior to
surgery by paying all of your bills, cleaning your home, getting your laundry done,
putting gas in your car and generally arranging your home so that you have to do very
little if anything for the first few days after your surgery.
