What tests will I need prior to surgery?

Most women need no testing at all. The SurgiCenter will require a pregnancy test prior to your surgery for which they will gather a urine sample for you when you arrive. If you are 40 years of age or older you'll need a screening mammogram prior to your surgery. If you have any family history of breast cancer you will need a mammogram regardless of your age. We can set this up for you. If you are young and healthy and have no medical history is unlikely that you will require any tests prior to surgery at all. If you're adding liposuction section to your surgical procedure you'll need a few basic blood tests and a pregnancy test. If you have any medical history at all with regard to your heart or any major organ disease including diabetes or other problems including hypertension you may need electrocardiogram and other basic blood tests. You may also need some of your medical records. Please bring your medical records with you and contact data to your family physician so that we can obtain the appropriate medical records so that your surgical procedure can be done safely.
