Do the implants have to be replaced every 10 years?
This is entirely untrue! We hear this frequently from our patients but the implants can
last a lifetime! But generally speaking you may wish to have them replaced in ten years
but it will not be for a medical reason. More likely it will be for reasons of a cosmetic
nature. You will want to change your shape or size as we all age or have children, etc.
But the implants are very durable and can last a lifetime. They generally last longer than
other medical implants like, heart valves, pacemakers, knee joints, etc.
