Who pays if I need additional or revisional surgery?

Breast augmentation and breast lifts occasionally require revisions. Not frequently, but occasionally. These revisions incur costs including the anesthesiologists fees, the SurgiCenter fees and the surgical fee for Dr. Jacobsen’s services. These are your responsibility entirely. There are times when Dr. Jacobsen feels there are revisions that are requested by the patient that can be performed with partial waving of the surgical fees. However this is only in the early post-operative period, usually within the first month or so after your surgery. Women breasts can sag after implant surgery, come together in the middle or become asymmetric over time. This can occur if the breasts are not supported properly or if your skin is thin or has previously sagged or if you choose larger breast implants. This can particularly be a risk if larger, more dramatic implants sizes are used which create more stress on the skin of the breasts. We will instruct you on how to care for your breasts properly to avoid some of the stress that can cause these problems. But breasts do require maintenance. Only you can maintain your breasts! Surgical enhancement of the breasts can be fabulous and certainly that is our goal but it can be disappointing if your breasts sag again and come together in the middle after your surgery. These abnormalities after surgery are not a result of poorly done surgery. They are a result of the stresses on your breast tissue that cannot be controlled by Dr. Jacobsen. These can only be controlled and minimized by your diligence and proper support of your breasts to preserve your new look.
